St Jovan Kaneo church in Ohrid
We visited St Jovan Kaneo during our first trip to ohrid in 2013. We had rented a boat from the Ohrid harbor; which took us there. The church is actually named after John the Theologian. But is called Kaneo after the name of the fishermen neighbourhood in which it is.
It is one of the most famous churches in Ohrid because of the wonderful view to the lake. But is also important for having preserved frescoes of the saints of Ohrid; including St Clement. Our guide told us that one things that make it unique is that it is built in the 14th century. It is the only church in the region; which has an Armenian influence in the architecture.
